How to get to Prague

By plane

Prague Airport is located at the west edge of the city, accessible by public buses linking to metro stations Nádraží Veleslavín (metro line A, accessible by bus line 119) and Zličín (metro line B, accessible by bus line 100). Ticket machines at the airport accept contactless cards. Watch for more info here (video guide). Additional info can be found at the Prague Airport website.

By train

The main railway station (Praha - Hlavní nádraží) is located in the centre of the city, accessible directly by metro (line C) and tram (lines 5, 9, 26). Watch for more info here (video guide).

Getting around the city

Prague has an integrated metro, tram and bus network – tickets are valid on all types of transport, and for transfers between them.

A full-price ticket costs 32 Kč per adult. Full price tickets are valid for 90 minutes of unlimited travel, including transfers (you will need this one when travelling from the airport to the city centre). For shorter journeys, buy short-term tickets that are valid for 30 minutes of unlimited travel.

An excellent tool for travel using public transport is Google Maps application (e.g. Android and iOS mobile systems): it will find your location, you just need to add the destination of your journey. The application will recommend the most convenient public transport route including the walking route to the bus stop and from the final stop to your destination place.

All the necessary information can be found at the Prague Public Transit website (underground orientation plan here, search for connections here). Watch for more info here (video guide).
